What to Do in Denver This Summer

Summers in Denver can be pretty magical if you know where to go and when. Whether you’re in Cap Hill, the Highlands, RiNo, Uptown, or Sloan’s Lake, events that will make this your best summer ever will be popping up (and popping off) near you. We scoured all of the event calendars and compiled the parades, festivals, and concerts you won’t want to miss.

May 6^th-7^th Cap Hill – Cinco De Mayo Festival @ Civic Center Park

Live music all day Saturday plus a parade, taco eating contest, and chihuahua race.

May 5^th – Bars will also be celebrating – Number 38, Tracks, Ophelia’s.

May 6^th RiNo Carnaval De Luces @ Reelworks

Immersive light installation with DJ.

May 11^th Highlands – Movie Night at Avanti is back.

Grab a drink and some dinner and watch Mean Girls from the steps of Avanti.

May 14^th Cap Hill & Five Points – Taste of Colorado meets Viva! Streets Denver

Approximately 3.5 miles of Denver’s downtown streets will close to vehicles and open up for pedestrians. During this time, Denverites can walk, bike, roll, or scoot to Taste of Colorado, an annual event that brings art, crafts, food, culture, and more to our community. Broadway will be shut down from Alameda to 20^th, and Welton St will be shut down from 20^th to Five Points.

May 21^st Highlands – Highlands Farmers Market

Starting May 21^st, the Highlands Farmers Market is back with fruits, flowers, pastries, and live music. Happening every Sunday until mid-October.

May 27^th-28^th Sloan’s Lake – BBQ Fest @ Empower Field at Mile High

Live music and all-you-can-eat of the best BBQ you’ll probably ever have.

May 27^th Five Points – Movies at McGregor is back @ McGregor Square

Memorial Weekend double feature Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick.

June 3^rd LoDo – Denver Day of Rock

A one-day music festival featuring 15 bands and 3 stages.

June 4^th City Park – City Park Jazz

Sake, teriyaki chicken, Japanese art, and more celebrating Japanese culture in Denver at Sakura Square.

June 24^th Highlands – Highlands Street Fair @ Highlands Square

Live music, shopping, food, and more!

June 25^th Cap Hill – Denver Pride Parade

Walk with Cornerstone Apartments in, or just come watch, the largest Pride Parade Denver has ever seen! The parade starts at Cheesman Park and goes up Franklin to Colfax before ending at Pride Fest at Civic Center Park.

July 1^st-3^rd Cherry Creek – Cherry Creek Arts Festival

An award-winning celebration of visual, culinary, and performing arts.

July 1st Cap Hill – Dusty Boots Music Festival @ Civic Center Park

A country music festival with over a dozen acts on the lineup, food, drinks, and horseshoes.

July 2^nd Cap Hill – City Gates Music Festival @ Civic Center Park

Denver’s best fried chicken chefs will face off to see who has the best fried chicken recipe in town. Denver bartenders will also be competing in a craft cocktail competition. Aug 19^th Sloan’s Lake – Beer Fest & 70’s Party
